Hi folks.. It's 2012 and here i am again, after disappearing for a few months.. 2011 had been a great year for me.. I have finally graduated after spending 24 years as a student and now, i am earning my own bucks. In 2011 also, i gave myself a chance venturing into business.. Although there haven't been any return so far but i feel great that i have tried.. Things could so different than what you would expect them to be.. I've learnt so much in the process, from contacting the supplier to meeting successful entrepreneurs..

Time is moving fast and we can't afford to look behind.. What's left behind shall be our memories as we move forward.. 2012 is going to be a challenging year for all of us.. I will be completing my PRPship and becoming a fully registered pharmacist.. My priority in 2010, to own my first property under my big name.. :)

The past few weeks weren't very inspiring for me to sit down and update my blog.. Maybe, north wind is blowing today and here i am, updating my blog.. In a blink of eyes, i have entered my second month of work..

So far, it isn't too bad and lucky that i actually like my job.. As time past, i get to know more and more colleagues in the hospital..

Not even a month in the hospital, I was even brave enough to have put myself in the medical club badminton competition.. In fact, i don't really know how good the players are and how far i can go.. But it isn't all about competition anyway.. Happy that i managed to hit my quarter final target.. Got 'fried' in the quarter by KKAK student.. :P In fact, from the competition, i got to know more and more people.. And and.. I will be participating in another badminton competition next month.. lol.. This time, it's the inter-professional game..

I got up today realizing that my wall is still empty.. So, i have added a few more photos to it.. It's a bliss to wake up every morning looking at these photos.. I believe one should appreciate every thing that he or she has.. No matter how bad one's life is, do appreciate, for it could be worst.. We won't know..

Just only after i have officially moved on with my plan, i received an offer letter from SPA.. Timing wasn't that right as i had hoped to get it a bit later.. Anyway, SPA letter doesn't mean anything as i still have to wait for the posting from KKM.. Till now i am done with body checkup and aduan berkanun.. What next? I guess i have to continue with the waiting game..

It does affect my plan if I am to really start working in July.. August will be alright but September will be best.. :P I think i should stop bargaining because what will be will be.. No point worrying about something that i cannot control.. Everything will be alright with minor adjustment to my plan..

Just to remind myself, do not be fooled again by membership offered by restaurants or other businesses.. How stupid am i to be conned by this membership thing.. Well, not exactly conned but i realise i can do without it.. My bad that it came minutes late.. Anyway, this is my second time and i hope the third will never be part of my life..

It has been a while since my last post.. And yes, from my title, you know that i am doing this.. It wasn't a smooth journey but at least i made it through some hurdles..

First hurdle was my parents.. To convince them takes courage and some persuading skills.. LOL, because my Mum is reading this too.. They weren't very encouraging in the first place, worrying that i won't be able to handle the stress.. Outside world is cruel, i know, but don't worry, i will learn my way out..

Second hurdle was my future.. How should i juggle between my work as a pharmacist and this? It will not be easy but i guess i have to figure my way out.. Owh, another thing involves laws and regulations.. As a government servant we cannot do this cannot do that bla bla bla... This problem wasn't solved and i shall see how it goes when i start working..

There are a lot more hurdles that i have gone through for the past few days.. Dealing with government isn't easy as well.. You really need patience when dealing with them.. And oh ya, i have dealt with some potential customers.. Talked to some of them and first response was alright.. Cannot proceed further until after i return from KL..

Again i shall say, the 'road' that i have taken wasn't easy.. At least, i think i am seeing glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel now..

To do or not to do?

I always say i dream big.. I will be doing something someday.. That something that is different from what everyone would think i will be doing, serving the government as a pharmacist for the rest of my life.. And yes, last time when i said this, i did not know what i will be doing.. But things have changed..

Today, i have a glimpse of what i want to do.. Something new, something fresh, at least for Sarawak.. Every thing comes with risks and obstacles.. I mean, of course there is a risk attached to every thing that we do, for not everyone will be successful.. I do not know if i will ever go far.. Even if i don't, it will not be the end..

I do not want my life to be dull, following just what other people is doing.. It's not easy for me to spot an opportunity.. And when there is opportunity i do not want to let it go again.. I will be taking the road not taken.. I am sick of my routine life, from going to secondary school, then form 6 and then university and the rest of my life, working in a hospital..

I am still going to work as a pharmacist.. This would be just another venture.. IF (touch wood) i couldn't go far, i will stick to the original plan, to become a pharmacist.. -_-|||

I had already booked an airticket to KL end of this month though everything is still uncertain.. This is my first step and I still have plenty of obstacles and challenges ahead.. I need to dig deep into somewhere for modal.. Wonder where could i dig.. Wish me luck.. :)

My room makeover

This 'project' was long overdue... Had been planning to makeover my room for a long time but i just do not have the time and push.. Since i have plenty of time before my PRPship starts and that the Taiwan trip had been called off, i decided to do it..

So sorry to have pushed all my sis's belonging out of this room.. :P So today, this room is completely mind!! lol... Was also a bit daring with the colour of my room this time.. But yeah la, this is the first time i chose the colour of my room wud.. In the end, it looks a bit dark.. See if i can cope with the lighting.. If not, i would have to think a way out to make it brighter.. Suggestions?

Koh Samui 11-14 May 2011

Alright, here comes another trip after Bali and Genting.. Glad that i made it to Koh Samui for a 4 days 3 nights stay.. However, it wasn't as interesting as i thought it would be.. Pretty much the same as other places with beach.. Perhaps we made the wrong choice by not choosing the snorkelling trip.. Instead, we went kayaking and so, we didn't get to see crystal clear water or anything spectacular.. But complain not, the RM599 package for 3 days 2 nights inclusive of air tickets and accomodation by firefly was worth it (We extended a night there).. Without this package, i wouldn't have thought of staying at a hotel costing RM300 per night.. Would most probably end up in the 800baht (RM80) budget hotel like what we did on the last night..

First night dinner cost us 399baht (RM39.90)/person and second night dinner cost us 300baht (RM30)/person. Third night was pathetic, only about 50baht (RM5)/ person for our dinner.. The reason why we had our last dinner in Koh Samui in 7 eleven was because we didn't have enough Thai baht..

Funny thing was that after cutting so much on dinner, we ended up going to the money exchanger and forked out hundreds of ringgits for these.. They were simply irresistable..

Two days had passed and i am still experiencing irritable bowel syndrome, waking me up early in the morning..

Thinking back, eight semesters of hard work and four years of university life are finally coming to an end.. I am finally done with IMU.. Maybe not just yet, until when i can finally shout 'Merdeka' on the 22nd of April after i pass the exam..

I am one year late compared to the rest of my friends.. It would be a tough catching up mission soon after this and it's not gonna be easy..

Meanwhile, it's time for me to travel like there's no tomorrow..

It's gonna hibernate again..

Yeah, my blog's gonna hibernate again... This time, about two weeks for my study week plus another week for my final.. And this time it's gonna be a real final, my last in IMU.. It's gonna be tough, but not so because i believe we will be able to make it..

After a three weeks battle, paradise's awaiting me.. No no, i am not gonna die yet.. I mean the paradise in Bali and Koh Samui.. Will be looking forward to at least a month of travel, probably longer, overseas or within Malaysia..

Till then, hwaiting!!!

It has never come across my mind that i would be watching a concert of this size.. After my first time watching Mayday concert back in 2008, i thought i will never be watching any concert anymore, unless it is free of course..

But i was wrong, this time round i went again and it was a concert of a bigger size, a REAL concert like what we see in television.. Mayday's was just a mini concert and the effect was no way near Jay's.. It was all about creativity, technology and of course money.. With that large amount of money pouring in from ticket sales, they could easily design a concert as grand as the Beijing Olympic opening ceremony.. I am not exaggerating here, he really could, judging from the sales of his world tour tickets and the fact that they only have to design the concert once and repeating it again and again..

Although i am not a big fan of Jay Chou, i enjoyed the concert, marvellous concert.. I have never regretted although it cost a bomb..

As a reminder to myself when i read this blog again in the future, i spent RM186 on this concert.. It was supposedly a RM230 ticket without Lucas's credit card.. Hope my parents won't kill me just yet..

First Aid Training 19-20 Feb 2011

It would be really painful if this was what had happened to my leg.. But no worries, it was fake..

Three of my friends and i participated in the two day First Aid Training Programme organised by Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, Youth Pharmacist Chapter and St John Ambulance.. It was a great experience as i had wanted to learn first aid skills since long time ago..

Although it was a bit pricy to pay RM235 for a two-day training, i think everything is worthwhile.. If i were to be given a chance to choose again i would have made the same decision..

I am actually not supposed to upload these photos before they do.. But i guess they wouldn't mind if i upload a few of my own in my own blog.. :)

Now, i can officially call myself a first aider!! Satisfaction...

I have reached yet another checkpoint of my university life.. Semester 7 was over and soon it will be semester 8, our last in IMU.. In a blink of eyes, i have already spent 3 1/2 years in IMU.. It was just like yesterday when we had our own orientation.. Then we organised an orientation for our juniors.. A year after that, we looked at how our juniors oriented the grandjuniors and the cycle continued with our grandjuniors orienting our great grandjuniors..

Flew back to Kuching today after spending a few days with Xinni in KL.. It was a bit weird as both of us headed to the airport together, checked in and boarded the plane at the same time.. The only difference was the destination.. She took the plane heading north to Penang while i took another one heading south east towards Kuching..

I still have another two weeks to go before i finally embrace my last semester as an undergraduate.. Shall i clarify here that i don't actually work in the hospital during my attachment.. Different from other courses where attachment means 'to work', i am going to be in the hospital to clerk cases. In another words, i will be looking for real case scenarios to study on.. So, it's not about working there but to expose ourselves to our future workplace..

It's going to be tough in Sem 8, but i believe each of us in B107 will be tougher..

My second BNF

Three and a half years ago i got my first BNF, the 49th series... I got it for free after registering with the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS)... I bet most of us from B107 never really appreciate it, perhaps because we got it for free.. Humans are weird... We don't appreciate things that comes for free but when u spend your own money on it, you'll definitely appreciate it more..

Now, i really appreciate my BNF as it made me RM99 poorer... BNF59 i love you so much!!

Uniqlo so unique

It has been a while since i last blogged.. This is how i always start my entry with and i did it again...

Today i went to Fahrenheit88, another new shopping centre in town.. The previous KL plaza was given a facelift to become the current Fahrenheit88.. To start with, the opening of Uniqlo today was the main thing that has actually brought us there.. Uniqlo was not that unique afterall.. It's just like another Giordano, Cotton On or perhaps topshop.. Somehow, the marketing team did a great job in publicity and managed to drag so many people there including aunties and uncles..

So, I reached there at around 10.50am, 10 minutes before the opening.. When i looked at the entrance of Uniqlo from pavillion, indeed i saw a lot of people, but still, it was acceptable to me..

But as we walked through the main entrance of Fahrenheit88, something wasn't right... The queue outside was actually only a small part of the whole crowd.. And the line stretched to the inside of the building.. Believe me, the crowd almost took up the whole ground floor...

I wasn't actually that into Uniqlo.. Been to one of the franchise in Singapore and it was so so only.. But i do like some of the clothings in Uniqlo.. Almost left with andrew for lunch after looking at the crowd but in the end we joined in the hype.. Had a nice 4-5 hours of queue with bunch of friends before finally entering the shop..

Well, we've got quite a good bargain.. I managed to buy some clothings for myself and xinni..

And there were two things that i salute Uniqlo..

First, i would like to have their marketing team if i own a company next time.. They have really suceeded today..

Second, they managed to poison Malaysians' mindset into thinking that they are living in a four seasons country. Yes, a lot of them bought jackets of one inch thick and shirts that actually generate heat in Malaysia.. Good buy....

It's 10.10.10 and i guess KC should have predicted this post coming.. He is kind of into psychology lately after reading so many books on business instead of caffeine.. He is becoming so good in it that he can decipher almost everything that comes to him.. The latest being a lingerie advertisement poster for minoshe.. I enjoyed and it sounded so true..

So, why do i mentioned so much about KC? I was looking back into my older post with the special dates.. So, in 08.08.08, he commented about me being 'syok sendiri' by talking without using my brain..

In 09.09.09, i didn't get to ask if i have changed..

So now, on 10.10.10, I want to ask, have i improved? I hope i have.. lol... But seriously, i think i have learnt a lot for the past few years in IMU.. I have learnt to be patience, sensitive to certain surrounding, certain people, to be selfish at times and tonnes more.. I think i am prepared to embrace the reality, the adult world.. It's gonna tough but no worries, i am still learning each day..

Till then, hope i still blog when it's 11.11.11... *Will try to capture the moment of 10.10am on 10.10.10 tomorrow... :P

Books

Reading books was not my cup of tea.. I still remember my sisters used to be book worms.. Every weekend, my dad will bring us to Sugarbun (KFC alike found in Kuching), not to eat but to borrow books from the small library there..I wouldn't be exaggerating if i say my sisters had read all the books there.. Despite endless efforts from my mum and dad to persuade me to pick up reading, i just don't read..

I believe this kind of things cannot be forced.. It will come naturally or it might not come at all.. I started reading when i was in early secondary school.. At that time, i read newspaper, starting from the sports section.. Slowly, i began to read the front pages to scout for interesting headlines.. And later on, i follow politics too.. Now, newspaper is like an addiction to me.. When i am rotting in my room having nothing to do, i will be refreshing new portals and online newspapers every now and then, only second to facebook and blogs..

Last few weeks, i bought my second book in my life that has got nothing to do with my studies.. It was during the bookfest in KLCC convention centre.. And also my third and fourth books.. The first book i bought was few years back, written by a famous speaker from my hometown.. Till now, i still don't read story books.. And i don't think i will in the future.. I prefer books on facts or discoveries or reality.. Remember i was awarded 'kepo king' in my class? So i think i have to keep to it.. I read to find out interesting stuffs..

Back to the books.. The first was a random stories on Malaysia.. It was written by a local lecturer from USM and was voted first by Star reader's choice award.. It was so so only.. Nothing special about it..

The second and third were self-help books.. I don't know why they called them self-help.. Maybe because they are meant for people who needs motivation.. I bought them because i find them interesting.. Anyway, i am doing fine now and i am not too desperate for motivation..

'Letting go of your Bananas' teaches us to get rid of our failures, or anything that prevents us from succeeding analogy to ridding rotten ones from a good bunch of bananas.. I thought it might be good for me as i tend to blame life for being unfair.. I used to complain a lot on my life.. I complained for not being given a scholarship.. I complained for not getting accepted into local uni.. I complained for being treated unfairly by the goverment.. Lots and lots of complains.. So, yeah.. Life is unfair.. If you cannot change it, live it...

The third book is the best among all... Everything mentioned in it was so so true.. Even the caption itself has caught my attention.. Here it goes.. 'the secrets to success in business or in life aren't secrets at all. They are principles, values and strategies that most of us already know, recited from our parents and grandparents. In a word - obvious. But because of that, we overlook them' And that's the title of the book, The Obvious.. The lesson that i got from the book is certainly more than the RM9.90 i spent on it..

Previously i didn't get what people say; reading will get you thinking.. Now, i think i understand... It's like a biological on-off switch to get my brain working..

To those who read a lot, please continue.. But there is this one thing that might not be in the book which i believe is true.. Don't be taken away by the title or description of the books.. You don't just read to be successful.. You practise, you try, you fall and you try again... :)

blogs, BLOGS and blogs...

If you have been following my blog long enough, you would have noticed that i complained a lot on lack of reading materials.. As in blogs lar.. Not that there isn't any blog to read but i am particularly choosy in reading blogs.. I am not into blogs which tell about how many times he/she goes to the toilet a day, what he/she eats for the breakfast or when he/she is going to die.. Neither do i bother reading blogs which are filled with pessimism or emoness.. Not always, at least... No hard feelings bloggers out there as each of us has our own blogging style.. I respect that.. And mine isn't any better because i too, feel that my entries are overly negative sometimes..

What types of blogs do i read then? Weird ones, yeah i do like.. I prefer people who has different way of thinking.. To think like no one else.. Motivational ones are ok if he/she is not too vain.. Best are the ones which share their experience in life..

Was moved to blog tonight because i came across another interesting blog, one that suits me.. I couldn't stop reading, one post after another.. It's a bit weird because i am reading backwards, as if i am travelling to the past..

First of all, don't get me wrong.. A lot of ppl had misunderstood me through my previous entries and told me not to be too sad.. :) I am not 'emo' here.. And neither am i admiring Singapore to the extend that i will beg them to get me registered there..

Had mamak chat few days ago with some batchmates during Mogan's birthday.. We talked about registration of pharmacist in Singapore and they told me i was not totally right in my first post.. Some said we can still register in Singapore after we are fully registered in Malaysia, provided we take extra papers there which are quite tough.. I don't agree with them and promised to find out the truth for them.. And yeah, i am right.. :)

I have attached the list of Singapore Pharmacy Council registerable qualifications.
However if you are registered in UK/USA/Australia/New Zealand/Canada you may apply for pre-registration training in Singapore.

Even though you are fully registered as a pharmacist in Malaysia, you are not eligible for registration in Singapore?
It is not true that you may sit for and pass a few extra papers by Singapore Pharmacy Council.

You may apply to work as a pharmacy technician in any of the hospitals or retail pharmacies as this does not require registration.

2nd IIUM National Pharmacy Quiz 2010

And so, i am back now in vista after a weekend in Kuantan.. Everything is good, everyone is healthy and everyone is happy.. Having done a minimal amount of preparation, we headed for the quiz without high expectation.. The only target was to not 'lose' face, so we succeeded, i guess.. Not too good, not too bad..

Fifteen teams from ten universities participated in the quiz.. Both teams from IMU managed to sail through the first round where seven teams were eliminated.. And slowly, one team got eliminated in the quarter finals and another in the semi finals.. And here is the final standings:

Barely a week after coming back from Singapore, i am 'travelling' again.. I will be taking a bus heading east this time.. Had only travelled to the east coast of peninsular Malaysia once in my life, for now... The first was during our class trip to redang back in semester 3..

I will be in Kuantan for a few days before coming back on Sunday.. Honestly, the group of ten had no intention of winning the Pharmacy quiz as we are more interested in the free trip to Kuantan and the experience.. But surely, we will give our best....

Singapore 13 - 16 September 2010

Selamat Hari Raya to all my muslim friends.. And the rest, how was your holiday? Mine was splendid.. Instead of spending RM500 for the flights back to Kuching, I went to Singapore again after being there the last raya.. Had also stopped by Singapore on my way to a workcamp in the Philippines earlier this year..

I have things undone in Singapore, not work of course.. Few years back, i read about Marina Bay.. I was pretty interested in the development of Marina Bay.. Casino wasn't my first priority as i didn't even enter the casino although i was right in front the main door.. What caught my interest was the design of the buildings.. I love the idea of putting a skypark on top of the three hotel towers.. And deep inside my heart, i told myself, i will be up there when it is completed.. And there i was, on top of Marina Bay Sands Casino and Hotels..

Weather was good during my visit to Singapore.. Manage to cover the places that we wanted to visit.. Three altogether; Universal Studio Singapore, Marina Barrage and the Skypark..

The bus departed Bukit Jalil 10.30am sharp on the 13th September 2010.. I was pretty impressed with the timeliness of the bus.. I had a bad experience previously waiting for one and a half hour in the bus before finally departing to Penang.. That was the reason why i rather spent a bit more on this company, Transnational.. They deserve a pat on the back although the bus wasn't as new as i had heard of earlier...

Xinni and i arrived in Singapore at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, after which we walked a distance to the Lavender station... After switching to another train and travelled for an hour, we reached Sembawang, our base for the trip.. It was her sister's house there.. :)

And, our first destination, the Universal Studio Singapore... The studio cost us SGD 66, inclusive of one day pass, SGD5 worth of food voucher and another SGD5 worth of souvenirs voucher.. The concept there was pretty similar to the Disneyland, only different characters.. Had a fun-filled day at the studio minus the heat from the sun... It would be much better if we have winter here.. But credits to the sun also for we have nicer photos with it.. :)

We went to the Marina Barrage the second day.. The idea of building the barrage wasn't new as we also have one in Kuching.. It has few functions.. First, to control flood.. Second, to provide Singapore with fresh water.. And the third was the one which attracted my attention.. They made it in such a way that the building itself is a playground.. It has a green top, overlooking the heart of Singapore.. The roof is planted with grass, and it resembles a big big field.. It is a heaven for kite fliers like me and picnic enthusiasts, especially in a place where land is scarce..

Later in the afternoon, we went to the Marina Bay Sands Casino and Hotels.. The buildings are gorgeous, with a skypark laying on top of them.. The skypark is longer than the Eiffel Tower laid horizontally and four and a half jumbo jets A380.. At the tip of the skypark, the cantilever, is the longest in the world of its kind.. Thanks to Architect Moshe Safdie, i was able to be up there, overlooking Singapore and parts of Malaysia and Indonesia.. But before that, I had to pay SGD20 to go up there.. Burnt a hole in my pocket!!!

Now, i am back in my condo in Bukit Jalil, bringing back together photos and memories from Singapore with xinni.. Am currently down with sore throat and mild fever... Recuperating for Uni this monday.. Got to stay healthy for the trip to Kuantan for the IIUM quiz this friday..

Every now and then, i have been hearing friends discussing whether we can practise as a pharmacist in Singapore.. We will be graduating soon in May 2011 and everyone has started to plan for the future.. Same to me.. I have been cracking my head on where to choose for my PRP and FRP.. In fact, in Malaysia, it's not up for us to choose.. The government will be the one choosing..

Back to the Singapore issue.. Everyone has heard of different versions of stories.. Some said we can work there as long as the employer in Singapore needs us.. Some said we need to take a few exams to be eligible.. But none were 100% sure.. And so, I was online the other day reading about working opportunities in Singapore, as a pharmacist particularly.. I was delighted to come across the news that Singapore actually needs more pharmacists and is planning to increase the number of pharmacists there. I continued reading and browsing for more details..

As with every country, everyone is to be registered with the board of pharmacy before licensed to practice as a pharmacist.. In Singapore,the board of pharmacy is called Singapore Pharmacy Council. I went on further to read on the application procedure. And there, the first requirement:

A.The applicant must be a graduate with a university degree accepted by Singapore Pharmacy Council, and/or registered with a pharmacist registration authority accepted by Singapore Pharmacy Council.

IMU wasn't in the list. The only Malaysian university in the list is USM. Was curious that time that i actually emailed Singapore Pharmacy Council to ask whether there is any possibility that i can work there. And the reply i received today was what i called a slap on my face.

I have attached the list of the recognised qualifications.

If you become registered in UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA or Canada you may apply for pre-registration training in Singapore.

I also regret to inform you that there are no courses or training to prepare you to be registerable in Singapore.

Merdeka Live in KL

Woke up at 6.15am today as i had planned to go to the stadium for the merdeka celebration.. This idea was a random one when everyone was having headache planning for things to do on this Merdeka day.. Honestly, i joined the celebration in the stadium not because i am patriotic or what but just because i wanted to experience it.. And yes, everyone was right, this kind of celebration is only attended by malays.. I could hardly spot a chinese in the stadium apart from those participating in the performances or following school tours.. It's sad, really..

Actually, i wasn't sure whether i really wanted to go or not before i slept the night before.. I was really curious to be there since i have been watching the celebration on the television every merdeka morning.. So, i told myself, i'll go if i could wake up and i did... Bathed and had a cup of milo before walking to the stadium... And so i witnessed the celebration, live..

The celebration was a great one.. Finely choreographed by whoever he/she was.. Congrats.. And i got myself a Jalur Gemilang.. It's free.. :)

Never has it ever come to my mind that i will be eating durian in KL.. Eating durian reminds me of my hometown how my family used to sit down together on the floor enjoying them.. Same happened to my friends where they used to eat durian on the floor covered with newspaper..

But here, it's so different..Everything is commercialised to the extend we have durian buffet. However, i have to admit that the durian here is better. They have different grades of durian unlike in my hometown, durian means durian.. Here, they have D24 and bla bla bla... There is one which sounds like what mountain what cat... Oh ya.. Another thing good about durians here is that most of the durians here are good.. Unlike Kuching, six out of ten durians we buy are normally infested with worms.....

I remember i had a good impression on this guy in Steven's corner.. Impressed to the extend that i actually blogged about him.. I'm not sure but i think he is Steven, the owner of 'Steven's Corner'.. He speaks Cantonese better than a chinese do and no doubt, he is a successful man who easily earn a five digit salary each month..

My bad, i was terribly wrong.. I admired the wrong person.. This guy may be successful in life, earning millions of dollars, but he is not the one that i would want to be like.. Resorting to violence is not the way to solve a problem, what more to say beating up a 64 year old man.. I wouldn't want to say the chinese fellow is totally right as i believe he must have done something or said something really bad that earn him a bruised eye.. But to beat a person up is definitely wrong.. So this guy is no more a gem, he is only a piece of batu..

KLCC sky bridge 28 July 2010

Had wanted to go to the KLCC sky bridge for a very long time.. After staying in KL for the past three years, i finally took the initiative to go there.. The journey wasn't easy.. We had to gather at 6.30am and take STAR lrt before changing to PUTRA line to reach KLCC at around 7.45am.. Was worried whether i had set the time too early in the first place.. But when we reached the ticketing counter, i knew that we were wrong.. The queue was already long although the ticketing counter would not be open before 8.30am..

After long hours of queuing, we got the tickets and much to our disappointment, we could only go up at 1.45pm.. Eight out of the sixteen people group had to forget about going up as they had to rush back to IMU before 2pm..

The other eight of us loitered around KLCC to wait for our turn to go up... 1.45pm, we went up... Anyway, the sky bridge wasn't that great.. The only reason to go there is because we are in KL.. :)

Obstacles..

And now that i am still alive, i am still going through them and i believe, this will continue as long as i am still breathing.. Obstacles might have drained your energy and motivation but remember, the tougher the hurdles, the stronger they will turn you into as long as you don't give up.. Was at Steven's corner yesterday when i met this guy.. He was no different compared to other Indians in Malaysia.. He has tanned skin, sparkling teeth and shiny hair.. He has something else more unique, he speaks cantonese.. It wouldn't be exaggerating if i say he speaks cantonese more fluently compared to many chinese.. Not only cantonese, i think i heard he spoke hokkien with Kean Ping.. He is not the only Indian who speaks cantonese.. I encountered one before in OUG pork mee stall.. However, i feel the difference in him.. WTH... He's awesome.. I can see him succeed in life, not because he is able to speak cantonese, but because he dares to step out of the box..

There's nothing wrong learning other peoples' culture.. It would be more embarrassing to forever champion our own race and culture and block any single connection with the rest of the world.. Wake up, Malaysia..

I was in IMU for the past three years and finally i am in the MAPCU, my first and my last.. It was the same as any other badminton competition except that u will find 'tua ka' aka 'big legs' here.. You will seriously feel like dapao-ing and go home straight after you reach.. All of them were freaking fit and we don't look for six packs there, we look for eight packs.. They walked as if there were springs attached to their legs.. Don't worry if you cannot understand the meaning behind spring legs as this is an internal joke with Kuching badminton gang...

Anyway, we didn't leave la in the end... We played and this was another big event for me.. :) If last time we were so excited playing in the interschool game and talking about states player, this time, it is an inter-uni game... woohoooo... States players were everywhere and people were looking at national players...

We entered quater after loosing against Sunway and won against Segi.. We were no match for HELP univesity in the quarter.. They were just too good for us.. They have Loh Wei Sheng playing the first men singles and Lydia Cheah playing first women singles.. In doubles, they have Selangor state player and ex-BAM backup player.. What the... Play what?

I dunno why i still have the mood to edit photos although i am fuming right now... I was just conned by mr yellowman and mr HTC!!!

The story unfolded when i came back from the Philippines.. I was shocked to see my digi unbilled amount.. It was RM190 and i called Digi customer service.. They told me they could not do anything unless the bill is out.. Alright, fair enough... I had to wait for another ten days for them to process my bill.. Bill was finally out then when i called them the second time. Lodged a report and they promised to get back to me within 24 to 48 hours.. Reason? They have to check with the billing department.. I waited for few days after that and there wasn't any reply.. I finally called them again.. Promise after promise were made but none was fulfilled.. They were unlucky because i had the time to call and pressure them almost everyday.. Each time, they got a free lecture from me... And finally, today, i got my answer...

My phone has this function enabling it to connect to the internet automatically, meaning it was connected to the internet almost 24/7.. I thought i am smart enough to have changed the settings through my previous experience but i was wrong.. They still have their way... Somehow.. WTF!! To make things worst, i was in the Phillipines that time.. Why would i want that kind of service which cost a bomb? Nothing can be done apart from paying for the service that i had never use.. Legally, they are not wrong... But ethically, they are very very wrong.. Professionalism, professionalism.... people!!! Indeed they are professional... A professional con man..

A WARNING to you guys out there!!! The auto connection is applicable to most of the phone models out there eg. iphone, blackberry, HTC.. Check it out before they rob you off your money!!!

Another thing... There is this kind of function where the phone connects automatically to the GPRS while u were connected through WIFI.. It happens when the WIFI signal is weak..

These functions are applicable to other countries where their data services are affordable.. But in Malaysia?? Hell no...

Is it our culture that whenever we see pots, containers, ponds or water features, we must toss our coins into them? Isn't it a bad omen as it signifies throwing our money away? Funny lar especially us Chinese.. I used to do that before too but not now because i am broke.. :) Can't afford to throw away money d.. I think other races in Malaysia are also picking up this culture.. Have seen them tossing coins into ponds too.. lol...

Previously they do that in temples or other more 'reasonable' places.. Ok, i understand.. Maybe for charity... But now, they do that too in shopping centres... Why lar??

Eh people, those are not wishing well too...

Next time, if i have my own pharmacy, i will set up a water feature with a pot in it also... Might earn me another few hundred bucks every month..

I am shedding my skin like a snake now.. Thanks to the sunburn i got from the Philippines..

I know it's weird to have this kind of intro.. This is because I have decided to go random, to type anything that comes across my mind when i post this entry.. :) I realised that it's hard to get myself started when i have too many things to blog about.. And finally, i end up not blogging..

To begin with, I was back for about five days now from the Philippines.. Honestly, i have never thought that i will visit Philippines in my entire life.. It is so alien to us in Malaysia really.. It all started with the invitation by Dr Ignatio to join the workcamp in Alegria in conjunction with our elective module.. Was a bit reluctant to join in the first place because i had earlier planned to buy a DSLR and play with it as my elective.. But i guess it will be a rare opportunity for us to join a camp like this, especially in the Philippines.. I can be very sure that i won't be travelling to the Philippines for my entire life if not for the workcamp.. It was a difficult decision.. Between temptation and opportunity.. In the end i chose Philippines, hopping that i will get my DSLR later... lol....

On the 19th May, i flew to Singapore alone to meet Kin Man, Kwong Howe and Boon Fong.. As planned, we toured Singapore and put a night there in the terminal.. We slept on the floor of the arrival hall in terminal 2.. It was quite a rare sight as there were only four of us there.. Thank god the security didn't chase us away..

We flew to Cebu the next day for the workcamp.. Not going to talk about every single thing that happened there or else i will be writing a thesis..

So, what's interesting there in the Philippines?

1. Toilet

The public toilets in Philippines are really clean to the extent that u can sleep in it.. Exaggerating only lar... But seriously, the toilets there are very clean.. Ashame to say that Malaysia's public toilets are way dirtier than theirs.. booo.........

2.Food

They have nice food there, especially the barbequed ones.. Have already started to miss their barbequed food.. But the food in the Philippines are either very very very salty or very very very sweet.. Hope i don't come back with diabetes or hypertension..

3.Jeeps

They have some taxis there... But the most interesting thing is the jeeps aka jeepnees, colourful ones.. Jeeps are the main public transport there.. Each trip cost us 7 pesos ( about 50 cents )... The unique part is the way they modified the vans and lorries into what they called 'jeepnees'

4.Beach

I can't think of a suitable adjective to describe the beaches there.. They are just so wonderful.. It is like Redang everywhere in Cebu.. :)

Am glad to have put myself in this workcamp.. It was a tough one but it's definitely worth it.. Once again, it gave me the chance to open my eyes and experience tonnes of new things.. I saw starfish and touched them for the first time... I saw the planet Saturn with the telescope that was used to capture planet images for NASA..

Thomas Cup 2010

Thomas Cup had taken up quite some time off my holiday this sem break.. It was so nice of RTM to have broadcasted the matches live in TV1.. For once, i can follow sports live without astro.. :)

It wasn't a happy ending for Malaysia to have ended up in the third place together with the Japanese team.. Wouldn't be so shameful for Malaysia had not talked so loud before the competition.. It has always been our tradition to boast about winning something big before we actually achieve it.. That's us, Malaysia...

The players aren't entirely to be blamed... Though they should have played better, we must understand the tonnes of load on their shoulder.. It would be terrifying when thousands of supporters put their hopes on us.. But remember, they are not always for us.. They will cheer for us if we win but anytime when we do not perform, they will jeer at us.. Selfish isn't it?

During the semifinal match between Malaysia and China, i can see that Malaysia is heading towards a very big problem.. I only see old faces in our team... We won't have back up shuttlers in the future.. We are too dependent on our Datuk Lee and KKK/TBH... Who are the rest who can give a fight to the Chinese? None..

Come on Malaysia.. You got to forget the old players and focus on younger ones who can fight.. Xia Xuanze who once played against Wong Choong Hann in the world championship is already a coach to the chinese singles player.. And yea.. Wong Choong Hann is still in the court fighting against Chen Jin coached by Xia Xuanze... Pity him old man..

I wonder when will our Datuk stop playing for Malaysia.. 35?? 40??

Interesting thing in Kuching..

Kuching, Kuching... What is so special about you? Apart from having its people staying on trees and Orang Utan being the best companion.. :) Nah.... I was bored of having to explain to people about people here living on trees and depending on orang utans and crocodiles as the only mean of transport..

I have found out another interesting thing in Kuching.. Yes, this... Satellite receiver or more commonly known as parabolic disc (English), tua tia (Hokkien) or tai bok ma (Hakka) locally..

They mushroomed in Kuching and maybe places like Sibu and Miri, east malaysia more commonly, for the past few years.. For all this while, we have been complaining for not receiving enough attention from the federal government... Yes indeed.. When people in west Malaysia enjoyed better development, we struggled here.. People in west malaysia have extra channels like 9tv and 8tv while we were stuck with RTM1, RTM2, TV3 and NTV7... Although, most of us here in Malaysia don't really watch any of these with the presence of Astro..

Lucky us, we have this... Though illegal, the number of 'parabolic disc' in kuching is ever growing.. Of ten houses, easily up to seven or eight will have them...

It's kind of interesting phenomenon here in east malaysia but honestly, i don't think it's a good thing for Malaysia.. We watch more chinese and taiwan channels instead of locals.. Kids here are exposed more to things happening overseas, china and taiwan mostly..

I wonder why we don't have 8TV and 9TV here since we are all part of Malaysia...

What happened to me from 3rd April 2010 to 5th May 2010

Once again, i have gone missing for almost an entire month from blogger. It has always been the same reason, busy. Last month was quite a hectic one, especially with EOS occupying almost three quarter of it. Somemore, we had IMU ball earlier that month.

IMU ball 2010, Audacieux, was a great one when almost the whole batch of B107 attended. It was really a special night, being the first for many of us. It would have been even better if IMU ball is held after our EOS. I am sure all of us would have enjoyed more. Nahhh, we still enjoyed ourselves. :)

We had our two study weeks straight after the IMU ball. In fact, it had already started on the day of IMU ball itself. As usual, study weeks had always been the most dreadful time of the semester, not the exam day itself. This was the sixth time we suffered in IMU, waking up at 7.30am and sleeping at 12.00am the next day. In between that, what we did was study, of course minus the time for lunch and dinner plus about an hour to chill. We drown ourselves with notes and sometimes memorised the whole lecture, unable to understand a single thing... We studied about twelve hours a day, for 12 days. Straight away after that, we had five days marathon of EOS. Who on earth could have done that?? We did, because we are crazy. Call us machines, not human.

EOS this year wasn't that smooth for me. Did some silly mistakes here and there. Was glad that it was finally over and it's time for HOLIDAY, a freaking two months of holiday plus i am flying to Cebu, Phillipines. Muahahahaha...

Went to Genting with my gf after the EOS. It was a great trip, when things went smoothly and weather was great. This time we went outdoor theme park again. Proud to say that i went onto spaceshot for the fifth time, and it wasn't that scary anymore.. haha.... Entered the casino and donated RM60 to uncle lim. Well, i didn't just donate RM60 blindly because i will be getting a free room soon.. Wait till i figure out how to collect my first point from the genting worldcard. :)

Oh ya... i met Misbun there and took a photo with him.. I didn't know why he was there only to find out today that they were attending tan fook's wedding reception the other day.. So unlucky we didn't get to meet the rest of the team. Guess what, Misbun's son was confirmed with H1N1 yesterday. Gosh, i had direct contact with Misbun... I don't want to get H1N1... Hell no....

Now, i am back in Kuching... Gonna spend my two weeks of holiday here wisely before i leave for Cebu.. But champion me... I have forgotten to bring back my passport, meaning i will not be able to leave malaysia... Thank god my friends were still in KL and they brought it back to Kuching for me.. I believe i will be deadmeat if i were to fly to KL just to get my passport...

Anyway, here i am in Kuching enjoying my holiday.. Two more of this kind left before i step into another phase of my life.. Can't wait to graduate... :)

Had a great outing today with a bunch of friends from kuching.. It has always been relaxing to go out with them although it was like a repeat of yesterday.. What we did today was almost if not exactly the same as what i had during the outing with uni friends the previous day.. Sony expo, watching movie, bla bla bla....

Spending the whole afternoon in Sony expo was fun..We got lots of free stuffs.. Free air cond, free cola, free 3D movies, free entertainment to name a few... lol.. Too bad i missed the special performance by miss ding yennee... Should have stayed longer there...

Today was also my first time watching the same movie twice.. It was only yesterday when i first watched the movie.. Would have watched other movie if the time allowed.. Too bad, it was the only movie available at that time.. However, it was a great movie indeed.. I think i can train a dragon better now... Because i have learnt twice... :)

I had a lot of doubles this semester... hmmm... few months ago, i had japanese buffet twice in two days.. and today was a repeat of yesterday... i wonder what next....

Don't be surprise.. The number of reflexologists in Endah Parade is more than that you can find in Bukit Bintang.. Easily it could hit ten (shops) in the second floor..

The most important thing of all, they don't actually massage your feet.. They provide special service.. :) Can't believe?? Go walk one round in the second floor and i am sure u'll be approach by them.. p/s provided you are a guy..

Since a lot of ppl complaint about me being emo, here's a happy post to compensate yesterday's emo one.. Today, ten of us from IMU went to the National Pharmacy Sports Carnival 2010 and spent about 13 hours in the stadium.. Compared to other Universities who brought big groups of ppl, there were only ten of us, eight playing futsal, me alone playing badminton and a loyal supporter... Thanks soon yang for being there with us for the whole day..

The day started off with Mc Donald's and ended with KFC at shah alam... In between those, it was filled with fun and joy... Since my eyes are reluctant to open now, i'll just let the photos do the talking..

This is IMU's futsal team ( guys in yellow )... We were great... Plus a bit of luck we would have done better, really... Congrats, we can still walk out proud being the top four among the eight teams.. And the fact that Malays play better futsal, we can still defeat them...

Today, i got my first medal in the men's single badminton event.. Had never really expected this because i normally play doubles in competitions.. And to be honest, i need my partner to cover me for most of the time.. This time, i took singles and it turned out to be fruitful.. Though it is just a bronze but it's a NATIONAL event.. lol..... Sounds great right?? But honestly, it isn't that 'national' anyway.. Only bout ten universities took part... But i am still happy.... muahahahahahahahahaha.....

1. Timetable has been quite packed lately with project deadlines and test approaching.. I was caught up with stress and almost panicked, for no reason.. lol.. But when i really think about it, there's actually time for me to meet the deadlines.. So i guess the hormones are to be blamed.. :) Glad that a stressful thursday packed with PSDs was over and i feel much better now.. Getting to know that we'll be more free starting next week makes me feel even better..

2. Had PBL this morning and i think it was bad.. Everyone has put in tremendous effort, no doubt, but Miss July was right.. We should have focused more on the treatment.. I am quite embarrassed with myself for not able to answer any of the questions that she raised.. Hope we can improve on this in the coming PBL.. and ya, time management too... :) One thing i am proud to be in this PBL group is that everyone is so supportive and selfless in sharing information that they have..

3. I think i have problems with the Broca's area of my brain.. Improving my english, spoken english especially, has been one of my top priorities but so far there's still not much improvements.. I can't blame myself if my spoken english never improve.. Weird thing is, it is not consistent.. I may be good today, but the next few days, i speak kindergarten english.. Funny eh?? Must be something wrong with my Broca's area.. :)

4. It has been almost five years since we sat for SPM.. Many of my friends will be graduating soon, turning into a professional to serve the people.. Time passes really fast.. It is as though it was only yesterday when we were still in the school being the most notorious bunch of prefects ever... Graduation opens another chapter of life in everyone and i am excited to see how my friends path the way for the future.. I won't be too late.. :) I will be joining them soon..

5. Just to lighten the mood here.. I was reading online newspaper when i came across this photo which i find quite funny.. It's like a little boy playing together with his elder 'ko ko'...

First of all, i want to wish everyone a happy chinese new year.. May all of us be blessed with good health and prosperity in the days ahead...

I had really enjoyed myself this chinese new year.. Every single moment i had back in hometown was spent with my family and friends.. It's what money can't buy, really.. Holiday's over and i am back in KL now.. Two more months to go before we sit for EOS..

AirAsia gave me an ang pow on my way back to KL.. They broke the limbs of my bag again.. The first time, they broke its neck.. After that, they broke its legs.. This time round, they broke its hand.. Pity my bag.. I hope next time, nothing else will be broken.. Anyway, there is nothing else to be broken... Oh ya, i am proud to say that my dad is a good surgeon.. He installed prosthetic limbs on my bag everytime they are broken..

Jogoya VS Tenji

Before this, I was never a fan of Japanese food really.. I only started to fancy them when i first went to Sakae Sushi.. :) Slowly i got to eat raw fish and squids.. And Mr Bean's oysters last week...

Since the opening of Tenji, i had already been talking about trying it out but i never see it coming.. Until last week, few of us decided to go to Jogoya, another japanese buffet restaurant alike Tenji.. Food were nice there plus we got a VIP card which means special food for us.. And surprisingly, the day after that, i was told by my friends from kuching that we were going to 'makan' at Tenji the next day.. Had already promised them earlier to celebrate Lucas's birthday only to find out that it was Tenji.. lol....

Having two consecutive days of Japanese buffet was ehheeemmm... pocket emptying.. Spent RM70 earlier for Jogoya and this time RM67 for Tenji.. Wasn't as bad compared to Sheng Loong who just had Jogoya with his friends during the lunch time, the same day.. :)

So, i think i am qualified to compare between Tenji and Jogoya.. First, Jogoya looked more high class compared to Tenji analogical to MAS and Airasia.. Foodwise, both have their own advantages.. Jogoya has more japanese seafood but Tenji is better in deserts.. More varieties of puddings and ice creams.. Crowd wise, i think Tenji has got more customers since it is cheaper.. And the service for both the restaurants were good except for Tenji which didn't manage to supply enough coconuts..

I think both of the restaurants are worth a try..

Life in Vista Comanwel is always as colourful as ever.. I have met with lots of funny stuffs and today, on my way back from dinner, i saw this car.. Something not really that unusual in Malaysia but among those that i have seen, this is the nicest one... Not too ah beng but cute....

Yennee came into my mind straight away when i saw this car... She adour ultraman so much that she always call herself ultraman and ya... She is in love with ultraman tiga..

If anyone were to ask me what i have learnt the most in sem 6 till now, i would answer ' making decisions'..

In sem 6, we have to learn to decide on things in the far future (not so far actually).. Barely a few weeks after starting sem 6, we were asked to decide on what to do for elective during the sem 6 holiday.. A week later, we were asked to decide on what to do for our sem 7 research project.. Whatever it is, we were to make the right choice within the right period of time.. Or else, we will be the one suffering doing things that we don't like during the holiday and learning things that we have no interest in during sem 7..

Making a decision is never an easy task, especially if you want a perfect one.. There is no right or wrong in a decision.. Once it is made, we'll have to walk with it..

I have learnt... I have made my decision.. And i am a happy man now.. :)

Nine years... It was exactly nine years ago when we last travelled oversea.. And before we wrapped up 2009 we finally went travelling again.. This time we went to different parts of China.. Southern China, to be accurate.. From Kuching, we travelled to Macau, Zhu Hai, Shunde, Zhong Shan, Foshan, Panyu, Guang Zhou, ShenZhen and Hong Kong..

China is a great place to visit.. Their sceneries are superb.. Their architectures are unique.. They also grow fast.. No other countries can beat them in this.. If we still think people in china wear broken clothes, think twice... They are twice if not thrice as modern as we are..

Nothing is perfect in this world though.. There was one thing in China that irked me... The chinese here in Malaysia is nothing compared to the chinese from China when it comes to Kiasuness.. Believe me, they shout when they talk and they push as they walk ( especially old aunties ).. They also cut queues.. This was what i experienced in China though i know i shouldn't generalised..

Having ended 2009 with the trip to China, i started 2010 with a trip to Cameron Highland.. Had wanted to go to Cameron Highland so badly before this.. Thankfully, i did it on the 9th of January 2010.. It was fantastic to spend a great weekend with great friends at a great place.. There, i ate my first raw 'jagung' and saw huge cacti.. And for the first time, i had to open my eyes so big to see something.. I mean the tea farm.. It is HUGE...

People says, money is not everything but i say without money, i am nothing..

Had a sudden thought of what my future life is gonna be.. Even before i earn my very first penny, i have already owed PTPTN RM80 000 plus another RM126 000 on my studies.. I owe my parents every bit of myself.. Every single piece of me belongs to them..

With an assumably income of RM3500 monthly as a pharmacist in the future, it will take me five years to clear this debt( PTPTN + IMU fees).. and that's assuming that i am not going to eat and spend a single ringgit in this entire five years and the government being so kind not to charge any interest on the loan.. When will i have the chance to buy my own car and house? When will i have the chance to have my own family?

Life isn't always a bed of roses.. It took me twenty two years to realise this.. I have been so naive previously hoping for scholarships from the government.. I have been so naive previously hoping for the politicians to get me a scholarship.. I have been so naive previously hoping for the government to give me a place in the university.. I was so wrong.. Unless you are of someone important to them, dare not think they will help you.. Hard work lies behind every success.. If we envy those with big cars and bungalows, believe me, they have worked really hard and they deserve it.. And if the wealth comes in a wrong way, they will lose it.. Someday...

2010, i am embarrass of myself.. After 22 years of life, i still cling tightly to my parents.. I still ask money from them..

Hoping to earn my own living soon.. And i dream of being one of them..

E.O.S. is the most feared thing among IMUians every semester.. This sem has got no difference either.. Everyone started preparing three if not two weeks before the exam.. It was when studying became an everyday routine.. Life was just about studying, eating and sleeping.. The whole month was really sickening..

To be fair, not everything during EOS was bad.. There were also things that i miss during EOS.. I miss the time when the whole kiasu bunch of people studied and had their lunch and dinner together.. It was fun really.. Not to forget funny things that can only be seen during EOS..

10th October 2009, together with a bunch of IMU students, we went to Nottingham University for the 'Pharmacists meet Pharmacists' inter-uni event.. Had actually considered for quite some time before i finally made up my mind to join... Anyway, it turned out to be a good one, thankfully....

Nottingham university is fantastic... I just love the compound that they have since IMU doesn't even have one.... The scenery there is awesome.. But one thing bad about this uni is that it is located too far away from the city which means less shopping and entertainment for the students.. :)

Team Dynamic Workshop

The attendance for PHP class has always been unpredictable... At times, the class could be full and once in a while, the attendees would not even exceed 20.. I guess it's all about timing..

But it was great that most of the students were present last week for the Team Dynamic workshop.. It didn't look to be a usual class to me.. More to a motivation or leadership seminar we usually have outside when we have plenty of activities... When balloons and eggs is a must... :)

It tickled me to see B107 fooling around with balloons... A funny sight when they all put down an ego side of them and started to show their true self with balloons.... Professionals do have their naughty side too.. :)

The climax of the day was a game aimed at fostering teamwork among the students... We were supposed to built a structure out of straws and cellophane tapes to support the egg which was to be dropped from the staircase.... and the eggs should not break...

My team was one of the successful ones.. cheersss.. :P happy...... Anyway, great job everyone... We all had a nice time...

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all the muslims.. :) The one week holiday came just on time when everyone needs a break... Though it's a short one, i think everyone really enjoyed the break back in their hometown.. As for me, i stayed back in KL because i had another plan... I went to Singapore later that week with Xinni...

Hola Singapore.... It is such a great country... A country so nice and clean put together with great architecture...

We arrived at around one o'clock in the afternoon and headed straight to sembawang where we stayed.. Only managed to go to Woodlands civic centre and few other smaller shopping centres that day..

Second day, we went to Vivo City opposite Sentosa.. However, we didn't manage to cross to Sentosa as both the time and weather didn't favour us.. We could see sentosa from here though... I am sure i will be here again so till next time i will surely step onto Sentosa Island... Back to Vivo, it is a nice place to visit.. Nicely built building which houses a great shopping centre...

Night time, we continued our journey to Orchard.. Orchard was not lit up as grand as it is during Christmas... To me, it is almost the same as bukit bintang plus it is a bit cleaner... Shopping centres like Takashimaya and Isetan line up the whole stretch of Orchard road.. And this time we have one newly opened shopping centre, ION... It looks a bit unusual but i wouldn't say it is nice... Just unique..

We were lucky to have met a photography session for an advertisement outside Louis Vuitton.. One thing for sure, it is not easy to be a model... She stood there for more than half an hour being blown by a big fan... By the time we left, they were still not done yet.. Pity the model..

Third day, we went to Bugis and we managed to walk Bugis Junction as well as Bugis street... This time, it looks like Petaling street in KL... A high class Petaling street selling ciplak stuffs...

Night time, we headed to the city, hoping to see my durian, the esplanade... Lucky us or should i say unlucky us... F1 race started on that day... The whole area around the esplanade was sealed up for the race... -_-!!! Not able to see my durian close up, we moved to plan B which was to see the Merlion... It was not easy to find that little creature plus most of the places were blocked because of our dear Hamilton toying with his car in Singapore.. In fact we almost gave up before giving our last try at Raffle's place station...

From that station, we walked to clarke quay and to the merlion park... The atmosphere there was fantastic.. Marina Sands Casino is just opposite... Though it is still under construction, i can imagine how it would be like in the next few years.. This place is gonna be happening... Must come again once it is completed...

I realised that i complimented Singapore lots.... Yes, they are good... But, they too, have rooms for improvement... Similarly, Malaysia is not that bad either, believe me... As soon as i past the immigration counter, i feel safer because i am in my own country... Still, it is home sweet home.... Till next time, Singapore.... :)

To do something others think will be impossible... This time, to enter a very own malaysian team into the world of F1 racing..

I am proud of you, malaysia.. but still... It's kind of funny seeing proton racing together with cars like ferrari, mclaren-mercedes and renault...

It's 09.09.09.... How fast time flies? I still remember more than one year ago when i posted on the date 08.08.08... It was the opening ceremony for China's very first olympic then, an anticipated moment by the chinese...

Anyway, this kind of date happens every year.. And very soon it would be 10.10.10 next year... By that time, i will be in my final year in IMU... It was like only yesterday when i had my orientation and now i am half way through... :P

A gold medal so near yet so far...

Just a month ago before IMUcup badminton event started, Phoenix looked to have the slimmest chance of making it to the top... Things were bad as there wasn't even a complete team.. At most only 5 person turned up for practice each time.. There were no spirit, hope and everything it takes to even making it to the semi...

Things started to change a week before it started... Eventually after the first day of the event when we managed to beat Pegasus and Draco, Phoenixians began to aim high... There was hope of making it to the gold... We have great players and great spirit...

But..... It was just not our day... A gold medal was so near yet so far.... We lost, both luck and strategy.. :) But we won for being able to stick as a team, a team that fought till the end....

I had a great time with this team... We had a great captain and team mates... All of us were equal and we made a great team... It's the team spirit that made us stand.. :)

B107 Malaysian Studies Project 2009

Last week was a blast in IMU.. We had our Malaysian Studies project in the IMU atrium... I believe the project marked many of the first in us.. For the very first time, B107 managed to organise something big in IMU.. and i really mean BIG... We managed to make IMUians look at us performing in the middle of IMU... As for myself, this was the first time i emceed, sang and rapped on the stage... and i am grateful that everything went smoothly..

The biggest credit went to our lecturer, Mrs Phoong... To teach a subject supposedly dull and boring is not a piece of cake.. It took a toll on her to bring up the mood, to bring us together to organise this project... salute, mrs phoong... we will be missing u...

I'm 22 years old

It's 22nd of August again and this time i am 22.. My life is forever colourful and i am blessed... Thanks to my beloved parents for bringing me into this world.. :) Happy birthday Pa.. I am glad to have my birthday on the same day as yours..

This year, i enjoyed my birthday like there's no tomorrow.. Went to Poppi Garden on the 21st of August together with a bunch of classmates... 30 or 40 of them i couldn't remember, to give Khai Xuen a birthday bash.. Happy birthday Khai Xuen.. Happy birthday also to Wei Ping, Ah Beh, Kean Ping, and also Huong Yieng which falls in this month..

It came a surprise for me to receive so many presents this year as i wasn't expecting anything at the age of 22... First were stuffs from my gf all the way from Penang by pos laju... It was so touching.. :) sorry for not being able to spend time with u in KL.. I was really downed with tonnes of projects in Uni..

i can't feel it coming...

seriously, when u stop blogging for quite sometime u will lose the feel to blog again.... it's true, believe me... i have tried to pen down things happening around but to no avail..

first time i realise it is so hard to blog.. :)

anyway... a minor achievement today... this is also considered a post right?? cool.... i am trying to bring myself back into it again.. :)

had a wonderful night.. fourty of us altogether flooded Steven's Corner to celebrate Beh's birthday... photos to be uploaded soon...

The first time i heard B106 cheering bpharm's tradition song, the pharma cheer, i was impressed.. The unity of Bpharmers really touched my heart... It's just a simple song yet it left a large impact on us... In a place overshadowed by the medic students, we managed to make ourselves noticed... During IMU cup, no one has ever beat the pharma cheer..

And now, it is gone and forgotten... What left are only bits of memories savioured in my first two years in IMU...

It's fruits time..

It had been a long time since i last ate these fruits... Bought some durians and mangosteens outside IMU together with kean ping while Kin Man bought the rambutans yesterday...

Was eating the fruits just now when i suddenly miss the precious moments i had with my family.. When i was young and whenever the durian season comes, we will gather in the kitchen to eat durians together... The nicest part was to sit on the floor... lol... awwwhhh... I could hardly forget the warmth of my family.. :)

We bought the durian at the price RM8 per kg.. And we chose one durian weighing 2++ kg which cost us rm19... Thinking back, it was rather expensive since we have durian everywhere now.. i think we had got ourself 'chopped' unknowingly... But they said it is D24 durian.. taste nicer konon.. Whatever.. i had been craving for durians for so long...

Was in Lowyat alone today when i learnt a lesson.. When buying things in lowyat, always go to the upper floors as those in the ground floor tend to slit people's throat.. And the difference in price is not a small one.. It could be up to rm30 different..

However, this is true for most cases BUT not all.. Each of us has a mouth so make full use of our mouth.. Walk a little bit more, survey and ask for the best price before you buy or you may find yourself paying way more to get the same stuff :) And please don't get me wrong,.. i did not get cheated as a return to learn this lesson.. Was looking for phone casing then and in the end i did not manage to get one..

Oh ya... Bukit Bintang is a happening place... I really enjoyed the walk alone all the way from Pavillion to Hang Tuah station.. The night life there in Bukit Bintang was a blast.. Colouful bulbs lit up the whole city centre and the atmosphere there was perfect.. Of course plus a bit of ah beng and ah lian here and there... Cool...

20th June 2009, David is back in vista.. Yeap, he's back that's all... Finally the fungus had left him.. Hopefully once gone, gone forever....

This time, I am not going to write an essay on how i came back, how i felt and how i shit-ted.. I only wanna express my disappoinment with our new KIA runway.. It looks good, sounds good but not good at all..

It's just the same as all the roads in malaysia.. Believe me, if you close your eyes, you will not be able to tell whether you are in a plane or a boat--> sampan... Its 'wavy' i dunno whether this term exist.. And believe it or not, at one point when the plane was speeding on the runway, the passengers in the plane had the shock of their lives when the plane jerked and the wings swung as if they gonna break..

Yea right... As if we have never seen a boeing 747-400 before..

Jern and i had a date at the airport at 4.45pm on 17th June 2009.. Not only us but his whole family also minus his parents.. haha... Rushed all the way to Kuching International Airport just to see a 'fully loaded' 747-400 land at the airport...

It was not the first time.. They have been here before but not in full capacity meaning no full tank of oil and max number of passenger inside.. why?? because the runway is too short... Now that it was upgraded from 2454m to 3780m, it can support A380 without any restriction.. Proud to say that it is currently the longest runway in Borneo and third longest in Malaysia after KLIA and Langkawi.. :)

Kuching is fast catching up with modernized city like Kl and Penang.. Am happy to see that we are growing together with the others.. :) But still... the people here are still a bit ehhheemmmm.. 'sakai'.. Proud to say that i am one of them... lol... Travelled all the way through traffic jams during the peak hours just to see.... ehhhemmmm... 747.. muahahahaha... how interesting..

By the way, we spotted this on the way back.. Jern's car, QAJ7793 altis parked one car apart from QAB7793, an Altis too...

Wondered whether someone was trying to hint us to buy lottery.. Wanted to try my luck but when i reached the counter, i straight away turned back.. Too many ppl there trying their luck.. Maybe not my day...

Luckily, i saved my RM1.05... It didn't strike anyway...

It has been almost four weeks since i came back for my holiday in my hometown... And in a week time i will be back in IMU for sem 5, to be exact, five more days... Holiday was great especially after we struggled hard in uni.. Five weeks were just nice for me.. Not too much and not too little..

Greatest part of the holiday?? Yeap.. To catch up with my family back home, meet my dear and also friends..

Rarely, we have the chance to group together when everyone is busy with their own things.. I really appreciate every single moment that we spent together... And never did we realise, we have grown up... Time don't fly anymore, they teleport..

Secondary school had become a great part of my life.. SMK Bandar Kuching No.1 is famous not for its achievement academically but gangsterism.. I was in that kind of environment previously but no harm.. I enjoyed it... :) School wasn't that strict during our time.. We kept long sideburns and spiked our hair... Labs were great... We warred with distilled water bottle.. Some stole bricks and some stole retort stand..

In school, we did this..

Oh ya... Introducing Mr Jacky, our head prefect.. I was his assistant for not burning the rubbish bin.. lol.... And yea... the prefect board made a good team... Believe it or not, we actually looked more like one of the gangs just that we weren't that notorious, just naughty and rebellious... Nothing's wrong... We did our job and others respected us.. :P

Time pass and we cannot turn back time.. Appreciate and do appreciate... Sometimes, once things are gone they are gone forever.. I miss the time when lucas looked like this...

and when jacky could do this.... hehehe... don't kill me... :)

We have grown up and we have changed.. But they are things that remains unchanged.. We are still together, we play like children and most importantly we are still poser..

Have you guys ever come across chain mails asking us to forward them so that msn or google will donate money to the pity ones mentioned?? How true is this?? I am in a dilemma for i never even bother to forward mails before.. But this.. if it is really true i don't mind spending a few more minutes forwarding..

Looks like a group of Badak aka Rhinoceros has just ran amok in the one year old Gong Badak Stadium.. :) Poor Terengganu... They have either poor engineers or super pro blood sucker...
